Dear colleagues and friends,
we are delighted to welcome you to Göttingen for the EU-CERT-ICD Symposium on 30 October 2026.
Since our last in-person meeting in 2018, the EU-CERT-ICD consortium has reached important milestones. Together, we have completed major follow-up phases, generated valuable scientific insights, and published more than 30 peer-reviewed manuscripts. These achievements reflect the commitment and collaboration of all project partners The symposium will provide an opportunity to review recent developments, discuss new scientific findings, present ongoing work packages, and exchange ideas for future research. We are particularly looking forward to sharing the latest study results and discussing their implications for clinical practice and future guideline recommendations. Beyond the scientific programme, the meeting offers the opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and strengthen our collaborative network.

About EU-CERT-ICD
EU-CERT-ICD is one of the largest European research initiatives investigating the role of implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) in the prevention of sudden cardiac death. The project brings together leading clinical and scientific partners from across Europe to generate robust evidence on the benefits, risks, and cost-effectiveness of primary preventive ICD therapy.
Through its prospective study, multinational registry, and extensive scientific analyses, EU-CERT-ICD has produced important findings that contribute to a better understanding of patient selection and outcomes. The consortium’s work supports evidence-based clinical decision-making and provides valuable insights for future guideline recommendations.
